Belgian Waffle Ride California. 126 miles with nearly 10,000 feet of elevation. Lauren chose this as her first ever cycling race 🤯👏
After putting in months of steady training despite the endless California rain, Lauren was more than ready for BWR. Her training paid off! She had a phenomenal race with a few expected moments in the pain cave. Congratulations, Lauren! You crushed it! 🎉🔥
Lauren was 1 of 40 women who raced the waffle distance compared to 588 men (and no non-binary category). During the race, Lauren heard someone say, « oh look, a girl. YES! » We’re so proud of Lauren for showing up and representing in this male-dominated space. We’ve clearly got work to do for gender equity in sport.
We’ll see ya’ll at future races creating space for more women and non-binary athletes to race. ❤️🔥
